Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist Find a Showrunner in Scott Buck

Iron Fist

According to Comicbook.com and Heroic Hollywood, Scott Buck has been named as showrunner for Iron Fist. Buck has served as executive producer for Dexter and a producer for Six Feet Under. It wasn’t long ago when rumours were floating around that the Iron Fist series had been canned in favour of another Marvel property, but CCO Joe Quesada and Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb denounced these rumours.

Marvel describes Iron Fist as follows: “Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”

We did receive an Iron Fist easter egg in the form of Carrie-Ann Moss’ character on Jessica Jones, she plays a female version of Jeryn Hogarth who is a brilliant lawyer and in the comics he is famous for representing Danny Rand (Iron Fist).

It will be interesting to see how they bring the ‘magic’ factor into the Marvel and Netflix universe, especially with the fact that Iron Fist attains his powers by defeating a dragon and taking his heart, even though it is highly unlikely that a scene like that would make it into the series, given that Daredevil and Jessica Jones had a grip on reality.
