With movies such as The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar under his belt, it seems that Nolan has his sights set on something more grounded, maybe even the most grounded movie he has ever attempted. The rumours that have surfaced reveal that the movie will be named Dunkirk based on the legendary evacuation of the northern French city during WWII and will be shot in France next year on a combination of IMAX 65m and 65mm large format film. The screenplay is written by Nolan, as it most of his movies, and apparently Nolan is looking for unknowns to lead the cast. A stellar line up of actors are said to be in line for supporting roles with the likes of Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies), Kenneth Branagh (Jack Ryan), and Tom Hardy (The Revenant).
