Crash Bandicoot, the PlayStation classic, is rumoured to be making a return on the PS4. Could Crash make a surprise return at E3 this year?
Crash Bandicoot was developed by Naughty Dog as a PlayStation exclusive in 1996. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the classic game franchise with fans hoping that a surprise Facebook post, and a reported Uncharted 4 easter egg, signal a “Crash Bandicoot” reboot on the PS4.
attackofthefanboy.com have reported that the voice actor for the franchise’s villain, Lex Lang, has teased that he has been asked to reprise some classic characters:
“Wow! What a throwback Thursday! This week I have been asked to resurrect three different characters that I voiced from 3 different games gone by. A doctor, a devil and a droid/AI. Unfortunately that’s all I’m allowed to disclose at this time. Stay tuned for more details!! Very excited about those!!
Neo Cortex is the only doctor that Lang has voiced previously – pointing towards a Crash reboot. He has also working upon characters within Mass Effect and Star Wars games in the past which could relate to the other characters noted in Lang’s Facebook post. With a Mass Effect film and Star Wars films/TV in pipeline it could be all three are on the cards.
YouTube user Hexoradon had previously posted a gameplay clip of the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End revealing a possibility that Crash Bandicoot could return. The video has since been removed. So what was in the scene?
Reportedly Elena challenges Nathan Drake to play a game – the game on screen is no other than Crash Bandicoot.
Will Sony and Naughty Dog team up again to reboot Crash on the PS4? We can only hope.
