Bill Hicks was the greatest comedian of his time, the late 80s and early 90s. Hicks presented an entirely different type of comedy by looking at the world through ‘Hicks’ coloured glasses. In doing so he broached life’s modern day frustrations with modern philosophical humor.
Today, while the names may have changed, the issues he often addressed have largely remained the same.
Talking about everything and anything his comedy and philosophies still ring true today – maybe even more so. Hicks wasn’t afraid to call bullshit on anything or anyone.
Kanye West, the Kardashian’s and Donald Trump are lucky Bill Hicks isn’t around today, but we a far worse off for it.
He was more than an irreverent comic however; he was a deep modern-day philosopher who could read the insanity of modern society like a book, flipping a person’s worldview upon its head in an instant with cutting intellectual comedy which awakened them to the realities of world around them.
Hicks passed way before his time due to pancreatic cancer in 1994.
